,One Report According to, former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson will be the commander of the mission. Apart from her, three international astronauts have been made part of the mission. These include India’s Shubhanshu Shukla, European Space Agency (ESA)’s Polish mission expert Sławosz Uznański and Hungary’s mission expert Tibor Kapu. This will be the first time in 40 years that a Polish astronaut will go to space.
The mission aims to advance scientific research, demonstrate technology on orbital outposts, and promote commercialization in space. Axiom Space says this will be its second flight with ESA and its first with India and Hungary to fulfill space objectives.
This will be the fifth space flight of mission commander Peggy Whitson. This will be her second space flight with Axiom Space. The launch date of the mission is not confirmed yet. It is believed that this mission can take off anytime after October.
Who is Shubhanshu Shukla?
According to media reports, Shubhanshu Shukla is a resident of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He has been a student of National Defense Academy. In the year 2006, he was appointed in the combat wing of the Air Force. He has more than 2 thousand hours of flying experience. Now he will represent India in space.
