Both of them performed brilliantly in the recent Test series against Bangladesh and took 11 wickets each. Bumrah took 6 wickets and Ashwin took 5 wickets in the Kanpur Test. Ashwin was chosen Player of the Series. Apart from taking 6 wickets, he scored a century in the first match.

Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan (up four places to 18th) and veteran spinner Shakib Al Hasan (up five places to 28th) have improved their rankings.
