In the 2014 assembly elections in Haryana, the BJP came to power with an absolute majority. After this, in 2019, it got a chance to form a coalition government and now there is a danger of anti-incumbency increasing. In the general elections, it could get only 5 out of 10 seats in the state. In such a situation, it is believed that the party may face more challenges in the assembly elections. In view of this, the BJP has started making strategies. On Tuesday, a meeting was held in Delhi till late night at the residence of Haryana election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan. Apart from this, now the brainstorming has also intensified regarding the candidates. The BJP is preparing to contest alone in the state.

Sources say that BJP can field at least 25% new faces in the assembly elections. That means on about 22 to 23 seats, BJP will bet on those faces who have not been MLAs till now. Party strategists believe that this will help in increasing the base and can also counter anti-incumbency against the leaders who have been active till now. On many seats, even ministers can be excluded from the ticket race. It is reported that apart from all the current MLAs, report cards are being prepared of ministers and those leaders who are busy claiming tickets. The focus is especially on such people who can bring victory.

Party sources said that BJP had fought the 2019 elections alone. One fourth of the candidates contesting on 90 seats can be replaced. New faces can be given in their place keeping in mind the social equations. It is reported that state president Mohan Lal Baroli himself will not contest the elections. This is because he will be responsible for campaigning in the entire state. At the same time, some ministers can be removed due to being non-performers. According to sources, Baroli has also decided to field 25 percent new faces.

At present, BJP is dependent on survey and feedback for decision on tickets. On this basis, names of three leaders will be decided on each seat and then they will be sent to the central team for deliberation. There will be deliberation on this in the Central Election Committee and only after that the name will be approved. According to the information received so far, BJP will change faces on those 46 seats on which it had to face defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP had won on 44 seats. The saffron party has a special focus on these seats so that there is no loss here under any circumstances.
