India refused to mediate between Russia and Ukraine, said one thing could have happened

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Ukraine this week. Earlier, India has refused to play the role of mediator between Russia and Ukraine. However, it was said from New Delhi that we can help in sending messages between the two countries. It is known that PM Modi is going to visit Ukraine on 23 August. The special thing is that this is the first visit of a senior Indian leader after the Russian invasion in February 2022. Also, this will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister after Ukraine became independent in the year 1991.

Andriy Yermak, Chief of Staff of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, had made a big statement about India recently. He said that PM Modi can play an important role in establishing peace in Ukraine. However, official sources say that India has refused to play the role of a direct mediator between the two warring countries. On the condition of anonymity, it was told that the Indian side can send messages between the two.

It is known that India has refrained from publicly condemning Russia’s actions in Ukraine. New Delhi voted against most of the resolutions related to Ukraine in the UN or did not participate in them. India has been saying that dialogue and diplomacy should move forward in Russia-Ukraine. All efforts to find a permanent solution will be supported.

Meanwhile, there is news that Ukraine has destroyed an important bridge in Russia’s Kursk region. Also, another bridge located nearby has been attacked. This attack has happened less than two weeks after the cross-border infiltration. This attack has disrupted the Russian supply route. Russia’s pro-Kremlin military ‘bloggers’ have also admitted this. It is said that the destruction of the first bridge over the Seim River near the city of Glushkovo will disrupt supplies to Russian forces stopping the invasion of Ukraine. However, Moscow can still use smaller bridges in the area.
