Indian Railways has been working on creating a new app ‘Super App’ for some time. The biggest feature of the ‘Super App’ will be its features. All railway services can be availed on this one app. According to media reports, the Railway Ministry may launch the ‘Super App’ very soon. It is claimed that this will give people a new experience in ticket booking. According to a report in ET Now, many applications like Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS), National Train Inquiry System (NTES), Railmadad, IRCTC Rail Connect etc. will be integrated on the app. If explained in simple language, different services of Railways can be availed on this one app.

The report says that the super app is expected to be launched in the year 2025. A senior Railway official has been quoted as saying that the new super app will be launched by the end of the financial year 2024-25. The app is being developed by the Center of Railway Information System (CRIS).

According to reports, the super app will be integrated with IRCTC. That means the new app and IRCTC app will continue to work together.

According to the report, Super App will be such a mobile application in which all the services of Railways can be accessed. It is claimed that it will not take much space in the smartphone. Currently Railways has 6 to 7 apps. Super App will become their single option. IRCTC app, Rail Sarathi, Indian Railways PNR, Rail Madad, UTS, Food on Track etc. will be integrated in this app. According to the report, the super app can be used on both Android and iOS.

At present, IRCTC app is most used for rail services. It is expected that ‘Super App’ will replace all these and work as a common app, so that users will not have to keep separate apps in the phone.
