Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the javelin throw event of the Paris Olympics with his season’s best performance of 89.45 meters. Neeraj Chopra did not have a good start in the final and committed a foul in his very first attempt. Neeraj could not control himself after throwing and went beyond the legal line. However, Neeraj Chopra made a comeback in the second attempt and secured second place with a throw of 89.45 meters. This was his season’s best throw. On the other hand, Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan won the gold medal. He broke the Olympic record by throwing 92.97 meters in his second attempt and won the gold medal. Anderson Peters of Grenada finished third.
High scoring scores were seen in the men’s javelin throw final. In the first round, more than eight athletes threw above 86 meters. Neeraj’s second throw was his only valid throw in which he threw 89.45 meters. Apart from this, all his five attempts were fouls. India’s Neeraj Chopra fouled his own throw twice. Because he was not satisfied with the throw. In the fifth throw, he could not control himself again and went out of the line. With this, India’s total medals in Paris Olympics have become five. India won three bronze medals in shooting, bronze medal in hockey and silver medal in track and field.
Nadeem made a new Olympic record by throwing 92.97 meters in his second throw. His sixth and last throw was 91.79 meters. This is Pakistan’s first Olympic medal after the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra has become the fourth Indian player to win two individual Olympic medals after independence. After independence, only badminton player PV Sindhu (one silver and one bronze), wrestler Sushil Kumar (one silver and one bronze) and shooter Manu Bhaker (two bronze) have won two Olympic medals for India.
