Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has called for unity among Muslims around the world on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. Also, in his message, he raised the issue of ‘oppression’ of Muslims in India, Gaza and Myanmar. Khamenei posted on X and said, ‘If we are unaware of the suffering of any Muslim in Myanmar, Gaza, India or any other place, then we should not consider ourselves Muslims.’ There is no detail as to why he mentioned India’s Muslim minorities in this. There has been no immediate reaction from Indian officials on this.
