Ahead of the Quad summit, bilateral meetings between US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have begun. To attend this meeting, PM Modi reached Biden’s residence in Greenville, where the US President welcomed him. Biden also invited Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to his home in Delaware. This meeting is taking place shortly before the presidential election in the US, so this visit is considered special.

On Saturday, Joe Biden wrote on social media, “Today I will warmly welcome Albanese, Modi and Kishida to my home in Delaware. These three leaders are not only committed to keeping the Indo-Pacific region free and open, but are also close friends of me and America. I am excited for this upcoming meeting.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already reached the US and has also met Indian expatriates at the Philadelphia International Airport. On Sunday, Modi will participate in the Quad summit, which will also be attended by US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. During this, international issues are expected to be discussed in detail. After this, Prime Minister Modi will give a special address from New York at 9:30 pm Indian time on Sunday night.

It is worth noting that presidential elections are going to be held in the US in November. The current Vice President Kamala Harris is the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party this time, while her opponent is former President Donald Trump of the Republican Party. Analysts believe that this visit of Prime Minister Modi has special significance at such a political juncture. Therefore, all eyes are on this visit from 21 to 23 September.
