Ramniwas Rawat takes oath as cabinet minister in Madhya Pradesh

MP Cabinet Expansion: The second expansion of the Madhya Pradesh cabinet has taken place. Old Congressman and recently joined BJP Ramniwas Rawat was made a minister on Monday. He took oath as a cabinet minister. The Governor administered him the oath of office and secrecy at the Raj Bhavan.

Ramniwas Rawat, a 6-time MLA from Vijaypur seat, was counted among the veteran Congress leaders of Madhya Pradesh. On 30 April this year, he left the Congress and joined the BJP. Rawat, who contested the Lok Sabha elections from Morena in 2019, has been the working president of MP Congress. He has also been a minister in the Digvijay Singh government.

There is also talk of making Kamlesh Shah, who joined BJP from Congress from Amarwara of Chhindwara, a minister. It is being told that if he wins the by-election, then another cabinet expansion can happen. There can be a total of 34 ministers in Madhya Pradesh. After Ramniwas took oath, now 31 ministers have been appointed. Three more posts are vacant in the cabinet.
